Beretta 694: The Professional’s Choice for Competition

The Beretta 694 was born from a singular mission: to provide competitive clay shooters with a platform that feels like a natural extension of their body. Engineered specifically for the disciplines of Sporting, Trap, and Skeet, the 694 is the successor to the highly successful 692, offering improved ergonomics, enhanced mechanical durability, and a wider field of view.

At Rangeview Sports, we consider the 694 to be the “sweet spot” in the Beretta competition lineup—offering the advanced ballistics and balance of a high-end tournament gun at a price point that remains accessible for the dedicated club shooter.

The Foundation of the 694 Platform

Every Beretta 694 is built upon a wider, heavier steel receiver than its predecessors. This extra mass (approximately 25 grams) is strategically placed to lower the center of gravity, providing a more stable swing and reducing muzzle rise for faster second shots.

Key core features include:

  • Steelium Plus Barrels: Featuring a triple progressive forcing cone that reaches up to 320mm (on a 76cm barrel), these barrels provide exceptionally uniform patterns and reduced recoil.
  • Redesigned Stock and Action: The top of the receiver and the head of the stock have been “relieved” with progressive grooves to minimize visual obstacles, offering the shooter a wider and clearer field of view.
  • B-Fast Balance System: The barrels and stock are designed to accommodate a series of weights, allowing the shooter to fine-tune the balance of the rifle to their exact preference.
  • High-Durability Forend Iron: The new steel forend iron features a self-adjusting piston-operated stud, maintaining a consistent opening force over the life of the gun and reducing the risk of overheating.

The Different Variations of the Beretta 694

The 694 is not a “one size fits all” shotgun. Beretta has developed several distinct variations, each optimized for a specific discipline or shooter profile.

1. Beretta 694 Sporting

The most popular variation, the Sporting model, is built for the dynamic and varied targets found in Sporting Clays and FITASC. It features a 10x8mm tapered rib, 3-inch chambers, and comes with a set of five Optima-Choke High Performance (OCHP) extended chokes. It is available with either a fixed stock or a B-Fast adjustable comb to ensure perfect eye-to-rib alignment.

2. Beretta 694 Trap

The Trap variation is built for the specialized requirements of the trap field. It features a 10x10mm parallel rib, 70mm (2 3/4″) chambers, and traditionally comes with fixed chokes (typically Improved Modified and Full) or specialized trap chokes. The stock features a higher comb and a beavertail forend for a more deliberate, stable mount.

3. Beretta 694 Pro Sporting (TSK Stock)

For the shooter who demands absolute adjustability, the 694 Pro Sporting replaces the traditional walnut stock with a TSK fully adjustable stock. This system allows you to modify the length of pull, pitch, cast, drop, and comb height with surgical precision. It is effectively a custom-fitted gun out of the box, making it ideal for high-level competitors.

4. Beretta 694 Black DLC (The 2026 Evolution)

New for 2026, the 694 Black DLC is the ultimate evolution of the platform. It bridges the gap to the flagship DT11 by incorporating Steelium Pro barrels with a massive 450mm forcing cone. The entire receiver and trigger group are treated with a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) finish, which provides extreme corrosion resistance and reduces mechanical friction. Identifiable by its sleek black-out look and acid-green accents, it is the most durable 694 ever made.

5. Beretta 694 Vittoria

Designed in collaboration with female champion shooters, the Vittoria is optimized for smaller frames. It features a shortened length of pull, a more vertical pistol grip, and a specialized Monte Carlo stock with a steeper drop and cast, ensuring that the 694’s legendary performance is accessible to all shooters.

Whether you are looking for the versatility of the Sporting model or the high-tech endurance of the Black DLC, the Beretta 694 remains the benchmark for the modern competition over-under.
