Choosing a first shotgun is an important decision that has the potential to make or break a youth’s future enjoyment of the shooting sports. Start them with a shotgun that doesn’t fit them well, or is too heavy, and there’s a chance that they will be put off of shotgun hunting for good. Every kid is going to remember their first time out with Dad or Grandpa, so make the most of those first impressions with the Henry Single Shot Youth Shotgun.

Our Youth Single Shot Shotgun is the perfect fit for youngsters (or smaller framed adults) who are ready to take the hunt to the fields and the woods. Like our other youth models, this shotgun is built to the same exacting standards as its larger counterpart.  The key difference lies with the buttstock being 1” shorter to make a length of pull of 13” from the end of the buttstock to the trigger.

It shares the same action and quality of materials as our other single shots, including the ambidextrous locking lever setup that blocks hammer contact with the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled, and prevents the action from breaking or closing when the hammer is cocked for an extra layer of safety.

The end of the blued steel barrel is threaded for removable chokes to alter the pattern and range of the shotgun so it can used effectively in a wide variety of hunting. The 20 gauge version ships with a Modified Choke using Rem-Choke style threads which delivers a versatile shooting pattern for shooting at 25-45 yards, ideal for squirrels, rabbits, pigeons, doves, partridges, grouse, pheasant and wild flushing quail at medium range. The .410 is threaded for Invector style chokes with a Full choke included in the shotgun out of the box. Additional chokes are widely available at your favorite shooting sports establishment.

This shotgun is sure to put on a show for many years, and start off a younger shooter on the right track with the right equipment built to their specifications.
